Guide to create a problem free manufacturing Unit

Manufacturers who own production units often follow a hierarchy of Metrics that is commonly known as Overall Equipment Effectiveness which helps them know the condition of the machinery and whether the supply meets the demand. The proper utilization of the manufacturing unit needs to be taken care of and made sure that the cycle of input and output continues in a parallel way. Overall Equipment Effectiveness includes making sure of the machinery to produce the right amount of product within the stipulated time and deadline on each day. OEE for Operators : Overall Equipment Effectiveness is usually calculated on three major components which are Availability, Performance and Quality. Keeping a thorough check on the three components makes a manufacturing unit work properly.  Any gap in these functions forms a chain reaction affecting the rest of the components and there becomes a gap in the level of output.
The Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) and the Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN) are authorities are a supply chain group and a standardization authority respectively. They supply equipments and authorize qualities of machinery and its parts. The manufacturing Units these days vouch for the final decision of these organizations and make sure that the products that they produce like Automobiles are screened and bar coded through AIAG Standards. The AIAG helps the smooth supply of Automotive parts from one county to the other as they are the authorized organization to label and code products. The DIN standards are another version of passing the right grades and quality of machinery parts, the stationery required for the manufacturing unit, motors, lead batteries, communication devices in vehicles etc that are screened by matching to the industry standards. Making sure of being at par with the industry standards is the main motto of these organizations that have the burden of being the final decision maker to approve parts and services to manufacturing units.

Ways to Know Manufacturing Standards

When a manufacturing unit produces products, it is mainly focuses on the best quality products and there are a few times when there is a change in quality of the product due to minor breakdown in the machinery. A few cases of deterioration in the quality of product is accepted but when it crosses the limits and produces low quality products one after the other, it causes delay in supply.
Therefore, authorities should make sure to detect the deterioration in quality and accordingly rectify it so as to not dissatisfy the consumers and keeping the cycle of demand and supply in the right path. When such discrepancies are observed, Six Sigma principles are observed which helps the machines to eradicate the variations in the output quality and eradicate the discrepancy from its roots. Six Sigma Books in India that helps manufacturers to follow their methodologies and principles in order to improve the production quality of their products and not give the consumers any reason to complain and meet their demands accordingly.
Another type of scheduling system in commonly called Kanban. It is usually the system to control the logistics and make sure there and no shortfalls in the production process.  It makes sure that there is no overloading and there is an upper limit. Overloading creates a pressure on machineries and sometimes leads to breakdown that causes harm to the production process curbing the process of supply of products to the consumers at the right time. Books like Kanban for the ShopFloor are great guides that show manufactures the process for adapting the system and producing products without any hindrances. Manufacturers can also avail a BIS Catalogue that helps one to know the various standards that the Bureau of Indian Standards has put out for the manufacturers. It provides the manufactures with a label, code and a license to present their products to the market and consumers after having a thorough check on the products.
